The Holy Monastery of Theotokos Platytera in the town of Corfu, is a Greek Orthodox Monastery dedicated to the Dormition of Theotocos. Founded in 1743, it houses a significant number of historical ecclesiactical objects and artifacts. Inside it there are also the graves of Ioannis Kapodistrias, first Governor of the independent Greek State, as well as of other historical personalities. The Monastery has a large historical library which includes manuscripts and early printed books.
