Short Description

The Public Historical Library of Dimitsana, associated with the old Philosophou Monastery (founded in 967) and the famous School of Dimitsana (est. 1764), is one of the oldest libraries in Greece. Today it houses over 35,000 books, a significant historical archive and a collection of objects from the Greek War of Independence.
