The Holy Monastery of Great Meteoron, is a Greek Orthodox monastery, the biggest of Meteora, and an UNESCO monument. It was founded in the 14th century by St Athanasios the Meteorite and is dedicated to the Transfiguration of Christ. The Monastery holds important ecclesiastical objects and icons, as well as a library with manuscripts and early printed books.
