The Museum of Typography "Yannis and Eleni Garedakis" was inaugurated in 2005. Its founder, Yannis Garedakis, publisher of the newspaper "Haniotika Nea" (News of Chania), created it using his personal collection of printing press machines and other artifacts connected with the art of typography. The museum subsequently acquired exhibitions on the History of Writing and the Development of Typography and Graphic Arts and it continues to be enriched through donations.
